Blackout to protest SOPA

SOPA is going to take away the rights of freedom of speech and make it much harder to find information on the internet that people truly deserve. It won’t just be WordPress that will be affected, but also Wikipedia, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Google and even email providers among several others. The internet as we know it will potentially collapse if drastic action is not taken if bloggers like us do not take a stand. We deserve freedom of speech and freedom of knowledge and the US government shouldn’t take away that right.

UPDATE: The protest period has passed. It took place on January 18.

I honestly don’t think it will be passed, but I have said this before, if it does it makes us (America) one step closer to losing Democracy. If you think about it it’s a really scary thing.

      Hi again Matt

I’ve heard SOPA is losing support, but it’s also scary it’s going to affect the internet worldwide since the US controls it, including Australia where I’m from. I’ve even seen some people on the web are going on an entertainment strike in March to stop it getting passed, which will be nearly impossible for me since Hunger Games is out then!
